It is important to listen to the scholars in silence – Sahih Hadith. Best Hadith which gives you directions on listening skills practice according to Hadith.
Before giving advice, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) commanded Jarir RA to silence the people so that they would listen attentively. This is the intention of the chapter.
Narrated Jarir: The Prophet said to me during Hajjat-al-Wida’: Let the people keep quiet and listen. Then he said (addressing the people), “Do not (become infidels) revert to disbelief after me by striking the necks (cutting the throats) of one another (killing each other).” Sahih Bukhari
Interpretation:
Hazrat Jarir RA had converted to Islam before Hujjat al-Wida. To become a kaafir means to act like the kaafirs. Because bloodshed is not the way of a Muslim. But it is a pity that in a few days, riots started in the Ummah which continue till today. The biggest tribulation in the Ummah is to create division in the name of imitation of the Imams. The imitators call the four Imams right. But still they fight and quarrel among themselves as if they all have different religions. Those who avoid static imitation are called non-imitators by the names of non-religions and consider it a reward to insult them.
Had the method of imitation been good, the Prophet of Allah would have followed in the footsteps of his forefathers, but he condemned this practice.
